Yuvraj Singh Picks Top 4 Teams Of ICC World Cup 2023

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh recently predicted the semifinalists of the much-awaited ICC World Cup, which is set to commence on October 5. Yuvraj Singh emphasized that all-rounders will play a crucial role in the upcoming marquee event in India.

The ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place between October 5 and November 19. The tournament will follow a round-robin format, with each team competing against the other nine teams. The top four teams will advance to the semi-final stages of the event.

India, Australia Will Be There – Yuvraj Singh

Speaking to The Week, Yuvraj Singh mentioned that India, Australia, New Zealand, England, and South Africa will compete for the semifinal spots. He highlighted that the inclusion of Ben Stokes has strengthened England’s lineup.

“Obviously India, Australia will be there (Semifinals). I will pick five teams as there’s always an upset in the World Cup. India, Australia, New Zealand, England and I just feel South Africa is due. They need a white ball trophy.”

May Not See Rohit Sharma And Virat Kohli In Another World Cup – Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh emphasized the importance of winning the World Cup for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, considering it might be their last World Cup. Yuvraj acknowledged the pressure on the team due to the 10-year ICC Trophy drought.

“The guys need to push it to win the World Cup for Rohit and Virat as you may not see them in another World Cup. My relationship with Sachin was very special,” Yuvraj further added.

“I was like ‘I am going to put my body on the line for this guy and for Team India.’ They haven’t won an ICC Trophy for 10 years so there will be pressure but it’s just about how they’re going to handle it.”

Yuvraj Singh was a standout performer during India’s victorious campaign in 2011. He scored 362 runs at an impressive average of 90.50. He also contributed with the ball, claiming 15 wickets. He was named Player of the Series for his all-round performance.
