Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has lent a helping hand to the COVID-19 victims. While India has marginally recovered from the second wave of the COVID-19 outbreak, caseload are still going up by 100000 every day. Amid such difficulties and challenges for the sufferers, Yuvraj Singh has stepped up by promising to arrange 1000 beds through his foundation.
The last month or so witnessed India in dire straits as the nation consistently recorded more than 400000 infections per day, with the fatalities rising to at least 4000. In addition, the sub-continent country faced a severe shortage of beds, oxygen cylinders, and other medical components. Hence, several state governments imposed total lockdowns to combat the virus spread.
While many sportspersons and celebrities came forward to help, Yuvraj Singh has also done his bit. The former spin-bowling all-rounder announced he would be setting up 1000 beds through his YouWeCan foundation. According to the two-time World Cup-winner’s website, YouWeCan also organized a health camp in February earlier this year.
Below is Yuvraj Singh’s tweet:
The 2nd wave of COVID has been devastating. Countless lives have been lost & thousands have had to struggle. #Mission1000Beds is an effort to enhance the critical care capacity of hospitals. Join our fight so that we can save valuable lives. @YouWeCan https://t.co/YFDWJyYDKE
