The India National Cricket Team spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has announced his first-class retirement on Friday, October 2nd. Yuzvendra Chahal has been the leading wicket-taker in IPL history and has not retired from international cricket or the IPL. But called an end to his domestic career. He shared his message on his official Instagram handle, as he had a stellar record in red-ball cricket.

Yuzvendra Chahal, who has been out of the India team for a long time now, might not make a comeback given the quality and the pool of spinners the Men in Blue currently have. He has been an outstanding cricketer and has won several matches for the side. The Haryana-based spinner has also been a big name in the County Championship.

Yuzvendra Chahal retires from first class cricket

Chahal played for Northamptonshire in County cricket. On his social media account, he remembered the first time he played a red-ball game and his love for the game. While playing red-ball cricket, he learned about patience and the joy of fighting for hours for every wicket.

He said via Instagram handle, "The first cricket ball I ever held was a red ball. I was 10 years old, and I had no idea then how deeply I would fall in love with this game. For me, red-ball cricket was never just another format. It was where I learned the meaning of patience, character, resilience and the pure joy of being out there for hours, fighting for every run and every wicket."

"I played my last First-Class match at Lords": Yuzvendra Chahal recalls playing his last first-class game

Yuzi Chahal recalls the last match he played in County cricket, which was at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground, London. However, despite playing over 40 first-class matches, he has never played for the India Test team, which is an emotional moment for him. However, he is not done yet; he will continue to play in one-day and T20s and will try to come back into the national team once again.

Yuzvendra Chahal said, "I played my last First-Class match at Lords, saying these words is emotional as a Test cap was always a dream, one that I carried with me for many years. It may not have happened, but I am genuinely content with the journey I have had and incredibly grateful for every opportunity that came my way in this format."

"The red ball gave me some of the most beautiful memories of my life, and nothing will ever take that away. But I AM NOT DONE YET. The hunger to play for my country is still very much alive. I believe I have the cricket left in me, and I will give everything I have to earn another opportunity in the One-Day and T20 formats."

Yuzvendra Chahal thanks HCA for continous support

At the very end, he thanked everyone from the Haryana Cricket Association, Ranbir Singh Mahindra Sir, and Anirudh Singh Chaudhary Sir for showcasing support towards him and believing in him during his journey. In 49 first-class matches, Yuzi Chahal has picked 148 wickets.

He added, "A special thank you to the Haryana Cricket Association, Mr. Ranbir Singh Mahindra Sir and Mr. Anirudh Singh Chaudhary Sir for their continuous support, trust and belief throughout my journey. From a 10-year-old holding his first red ball to playing his final First-Class game, it has been one hell of a journey."
