Former Pakistan cricketer Tanvir Ahmed mocked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for sending Wahab Riaz to a coaching workshop in Maldives. He also trolled the board for their statement of performing surgery on the team after their poor T20 World 2024 campaign.

Things are not at all correct in the Pakistan Cricket. This is because the Babar Azam-led side produced a poor performance in the T20 World Cup 2024. Since then, a lot has happened in Pakistan cricket, and some of the major changes have taken place in the team as well as management.

Pakistan faced a group-stage exit in the T20 World Cup 2024. They suffered losses to the United States of America and the Indian National Cricket Team, which saw them failing to qualify for the Super 8 stage. Not only the entire team led by Babar Azam was criticized, but also the management, as well as the Pakistan Cricket Board, faced a lot of skewering.

With the team performing poorly in the World Cup, Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stated that he would be performing surgery on the team. After his statement, the Pakistan Cricket Board sacked Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq as the selectors of the team and gave the authority to head coaches Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie.

If this was not enough, the Pakistan Cricket Board also denied giving NOCs to Naseem Shah, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Mohammad Rizwan to play in the overseas league. Apart from this, they also have been working on the grassroots level to improve the cricket in the country. The governing body has been keeping things tight as well and there is no confirmation yet if Babar Azam will be part of the leadership group or not. The right-hander hasn't been given the Test captaincy back like the white-ball leadership.

In another positive step, the Pakistan Cricket Board will be sending Wahab Riaz and Shahid Anwar for the workshop in Maldives so that they can learn how to identify and develop talent from the grassroots level. Releasing the official statement, they stated:

"The ICC will hold a two-day High-Performance workshop in Maldives on 29-30 July. Former Test cricketer Wahab Riaz and former international cricketer Shahid Anwar (head coach of National Cricket Academy) will participate in the workshop.

"The workshop is designed to provide participants with information on the latest coaching techniques as well as on how to identify and develop talent from the grassroots level."

Wahab Riaz kia baat ha O coaching experience - Tanvir Ahmed

Sending Wahab Riaz to the Maldives didn't go well with Tanvir Ahmed, who touted the former pacer as a player with 0 knowledge and mocked the Pakistan Cricket Board for the kind of surgery they are performing. Taking to his Twitter account, he stated:

"Wahab Riaz kia baat ha O coaching experience jis ko bowling ka bilkul idea nahi ha woh Maldives ja raha ha. Ye-ha Pakistan Cricket Board ki surgery. ("Wahab Riaz has zero coaching experience and has no idea about bowling is being sent to Maldives. This is Pakistan Cricket Board's surgery.")
