Just like Harare, Bulawayo will also offer ample assistance to both bowlers as well as batsmen. The average score batting first at the venue is 308 runs. It means the batsmen can score if they spend a considerable amount of time in the middle.
At the same time, the bowlers will also get good support from the surface and can trouble the batters. In the last Test played at the venue which was between Zimbabwe and West Indies last year, none of the teams managed to reach the 300-run mark.
West Indies had won the game by an innings and 4 runs after scoring 292 runs. On the other hand, Zimbabwe had scored 115 and 173 in the two innings.
Conclusion:
The weather forecast will be a big concern ahead of the first ZIM vs AFG Test. The forecast has predicted rain on all five days of the Test and it might become difficult for both teams to force a result if a considerable amount of time is lost due to rain and wet outfield.
