The team that wins the toss will look to bat first and put runs on the board to get the opposition under pressure.

Having said that, 12 out of the 29 matches played at this ground have been won by the chasing team, but the way the last match between these two teams panned it won't be a bad decision to bat first.

As that's what South Africa did and posted a total of 418 runs, which proved to be enough for them to register a comprehensive win.

Although Zimbabwe showed some fight with the bat but a shaky start at the top of the order meant that the Craig Ervine-led side wasn't able to recover from it despite the best effort from Sean Williams.

Williams scored a fighting century and ensured that Zimbabwe were able to avoid the follow-on. Williams was well supported by Vincent Masekesa, who held one end during the eighth wicket partnership.

Zimbabwe would like their first change bowler to maintain the pressure created by the new ball bowlers.

The Craig Ervine-led side would be satisfied by the way the new ball bowling pair of Blessing Muzarabani and Tanka Chivanga were able to get rid of South Africa's top four batters early in the first innings.

As far as South Africa, the Proteas have dealt a major blow with the injury to Keshav Maharaj, who won't be a part of the team for the second Test. Mulder will step in as the captain in Maharaj's absence.

It would be interesting to see how the weather, which is expected to be on the cooler side, affects the behaviour of the pitch.

Conclusion

Zimbabwe would like to make a strong comeback by winning the second Test and level the series by doing so.

South Africa, on the other hand, would want to continue their good run in Test cricket by capping off another series and keep their good record in the longest format of the game in the recent past.
