Zimbabwe Playing 11 vs New Zealand- Match 3, Zimbabwe T20I Tri Series 2025:

Openers: Brian Bennett, Wessly Madhevere

Zimbabwe will open the batting with the pair of Brian Bennett and Wessly Madhevere in the third match of the tri-series against New Zealand.

The duo wasn't able to get the host off to a good start in the opening match of the tri series against South Africa, and will look to get things right in the upcoming match against New Zealand.

As far as the individual performance of both batters in the first match is concerned, Bennett got off to a start and scored 30 runs but wasn't able to convert that into a significant score.

Bennett's innings didn't make much difference also because of the fact that he played at a strike rate of just over 100.

Madhevere, on the other hand, failed to make good use of the opportunity he got in the first game as the batter was dismissed early, and will look to make a strong comeback in an important game against New Zealand.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Clive Madande (wk), Sikandar Raza (c), Ryan Burl, Tashinga Musekiwa, Tony Munyonga

Like the openers, Zimbabwe's middle-order batters found it hard to score against some disciplined bowling from the South African bowlers in the first match.

It was the experienced pair of captain Sikanadar Raza and Ryan Burl who tried to steady the ship by scoring 54 and 29 runs respectively, but were not able to prolong their innings.

The inability of the batters to convert starts into big scores came to haunt them in the first match, and the Sikanadar Raza-led side will look to rectify that in the third game of the tri-nation series against New Zealand.

The home team is expected to go into the third match with the same batting combination and would wish for a more responsible performance from the batters.

Bowlers: Wellington Masakadza, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava, Trevor Gwandu

The situation was much better as far as the bowling innings is concerned, with the likes of Richard Ngarava and Trevor Gwandu bringing the team back in the game with early strikes before Gwandu got injured.

Both Bowlers were well supported by Blessing Muzarabani, who bowled economically and gave away 22 runs in three overs.

Having said that, Zimbabwe's bowlers were not able to sustain the pressure in the middle overs, and that's something they would like to correct in their second game of the series.

The home side would want their spinners to at least keep the pressure on the opposition batters in the middle overs to make things easy for the fast bowlers.

The rainbow nation is expected to go in with an unchanged bowling lineup in the third match against New Zealand and would want Gwandu to be fit and available for the game.
