Sri Lanka will face Zimbabwe in the fifth match of the T20I tri-series. This article provides details about Zimbabwe's Playing 11 vs Sri Lanka for the fifth match of the series.

Zimbabwe Playing XI vs Sri Lanka- Pakistan T20I Tri Series 2025, Match 5:

Openers: Brian Bennett, Tadiwanashe Marumani

Zimbabwe would want to bounce back after a disappointing 69-run defeat in the previous match against Pakistan when they take on Sri Lanka in their last match of the tri-nation series.

The Sikandar Raza-led side conceded 10-15 runs more than what could have been an ideal score on the wicket, which had something in it for the bowlers as well, which led to Pakistan scoring 195 runs, which the visitors couldn't get close to.

Zimbabwe would hope for their bowlers to put on an improved performance in the game against Sri Lanka in order to increase their chances of winning.

In addition to that, the team management would also wish for the batting lineup to perform as a unit, which it hasn't been able to do in the three matches so far.

Although Zimbabwe has a good blend of youth and experience in the batting order, the team seems to be dependent on only one batter to get the job done.

Despite the opening pair of Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani getting the team off to a good start, barring the previous match, Zimbabwe has failed to put enough runs on the board due to a mixed performance from the middle order.

Amidst a poor performance by the middle order, Zimbabwe would hope for the opening pair to do more of what they did in the first couple of matches.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Brendan Taylor (wk), Sikandar Raza (c), Ryan Burl, Tony Munyonga, Tashinga Musekiwa, Brad Evans

As mentioned above, the middle-order batters have undone the good work of the opening partnership by throwing their wicket away.

The likes of Brendan Taylor have looked good and have got off to a start in the series, but haven't succeeded in converting that into a significant score, which the former captain would like to do in the match against Sri Lanka

The only ray of hope for the rainbow nation in the middle order has been the team's captain, Sikandar Raza, who, with his timely knocks, ensured that Zimbabwe had something to bowl at in the first two matches and even got the better of Sri Lanka in the second match.

Raza would once again be entrusted to lead from the front and deliver an all-around performance.

Other than Raza, the batter who has made some kind of contribution in the series has been Ryan Burl, with a fighting half-century against Pakistan, and he would wish to build on his innings in the next game as well.

Bowlers: Tinotenda Maposa, Richard Ngarava, Wellington Masakadza

As far as the team's effort with the ball in the tri series, it has been a decent one, with them being able to give Pakistan a run for their money in the first game and bowling Sri Lanka for 95 runs to open their account.

However, the bowling attack looked off colour for most of Pakistan's batting innings, only to pull this back a little in the final five overs.

The attack, which includes names like Richard Ngarava, Braf Evans, Wellington Masakadza, and Tinotenda Maposa, would look to get things back on track against Sri Lanka.

All things said, the rainbow nation would be confident of replicating the same performance they delivered when the two teams met for the first time in the series, taking into account the resources they have at their disposal.
