On Monday, November 10, Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) officially announced the squad of the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team for the upcoming T20I tri-nation series in Pakistan.
The Zimbabwe National Cricket Team have suffered a massive blow ahead of the series as they will be missing the services of the premier pacer Blessing Muzarabani, who has been ruled out of the Pakistan tour.
Newman Nyamhuri replaces Blessing Muzarabani for the Pakistan tour
Pakistan are all set to host the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team and the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team in a tri-nation series that will help the sides prepare for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.
The series holds a big importance for the Chevrons; hence, the selection committee has decided to name a strong 15-man squad for the T20I matches against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Notably, the Chevrons were not the original choice for the tri-nation series as it was scheduled to be played between Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka. However, at the last moment, Afghanistan announced their withdrawal from the series due to cross-border tensions with Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the Chevrons will be led by Sikandar Raza in the T20I series. The squad also features star players like Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Tony Munyonga, Tashinga Musekiwa, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, and Brendan Taylor.
However, one big name that will not be part of the series is the premier pacer Blessing Muzarabani. He has been ruled out of the series due to a back injury, and he has been replaced by Newman Nyamhuri in the squad.
Meanwhile, the Chevrons will open their campaign against Pakistan in Rawalpindi on 17 November, followed by the match against Sri Lanka on 19 November. After that, they will take on the Men In Green on November 23 and the Lankan Lions on November 25 in Lahore. If they finish in the top two, then they will play the final on November 29 in Lahore.

Sean Williams' international career ends
Recently, a major development took place in Zimbabwe, which saw the immensely successful career of the 39-year-old batter Sean Williams end.
Sean Williams has entered a rehabilitation programme to treat drug addiction and has pulled out of the T20I side before the World Cup Africa Qualifier series in Harare.
"After careful consideration, ZC has concluded that Williams will no longer be considered for national selection. ZC expects all contracted players to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline and compliance with team protocols and anti-doping regulations," ZC said.
"A review of Williams' record indicates a history of disciplinary issues and repeated unavailability, which has impacted team preparations and performance. While ZC commends him for seeking rehabilitation, withdrawal from team commitments under circumstances involving potential testing raises serious concerns regarding professional and ethical standards."
