We have seen that Cricketers share a very pristine relationship with their fans. Mostly the players who are down to earth know the role of supporters in their career. Thus, the players always greet their fans with respect and give them their time and autographs. In the modern game, the autograph has been replaced with selfies. However, there have been instances when cricketers have got into fights with fans.
In fact, we have seen that a controversial comment or booing from the crowd has led to more frustration for the player. We take a look at ten such instances when cricketers got into a fight with fans.
10. Inzamam-ul-Haq
The former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq was well known for his calm and composed nature. However, the talisman batsman lost his cool when a fan called him a potato. Inzamam-ul-Haq was fielding near the boundary cushions and ran towards the fan with a bat in his hand. Pakistan was playing India at Toronto and the Indian team was in a shoo-in position after skittling out Pakistan for a paltry score of 116 runs.
9. Rohit Sharma
India’s stylish batsman Rohit Sharma was provoked by a fan during the net session. Rohit Sharma even threatened the fan and warned him that he will hit him with the bat. The right-hander was disturbed when the fan had passed a comment when he was training in the nets. Furthermore, former Indian seamer Praveen Kumar also joined Rohit Sharma and abused and threatened the fan.
8. Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli is well known for his aggressive style of playing. Kohli likes to take the bull by its horns and we have seen that he likes to get under the skin of the opposition. In fact, Kohli was easily intimidated in the young days of his career. When Virat Kohli was playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, he was tempted by a section of crowd when he was going back to the pavilion. Consequently, Kohli lost his cool and went to threaten the crowd.
7. Sabbir Rahman
Bangladesh batsman Sabbir Rahman assaulted a fan during the domestic circuit match. The fan was taunting Rahman and when Rahman could not take it anymore, he went outside the field and assaulted the fan. In fact, Rahman went on to beat the young fan. Subsequently, Rahman had to pay the price for his ill-temper and he was suspended by Bangladesh Cricket Board.
6. Mohammed Shami
Mohammed Shami lost his cool when Pakistan thrashed India in the Champions Trophy final by 180 runs. The Indian team was making its way back to the dressing room when a fan made a comment on India’s loss. However, Shami was quick to pick and gave a glare to the fan. Ever cool MS Dhoni was behind Shami and pushed him into the dressing room to avoid any controversy.
5. Ben Stokes
Ben Stokes showed his street fighter skills when he was seen throwing punches at two people outside a club in Bristol. Stokes video had gone viral and later it was discovered that Stokes was defending a gay couple. The talisman all-rounder was suspended by the England Cricket Board but he was later taken back into the team after he served his punishment.
4. Jesse Ryder
New Zealand’s southpaw batsman Jesse Ryder was famous for short temper. Ryder got into a fight with four people in the club after having a heavy drinking session. The left-hander was beaten by four people and he ended up in a coma and had to spend some days in the ICU.
3. Six Indian players were involved in a brawl in 2010
Six Indian players namely Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan, Yuvraj Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Piyush Chawla and Rohit Sharma were involved in a brawl in a pub in 2010. The incident happened at a pub called Tequilla Joe in the West Indies. However, Yuvraj Singh denied that there was any scuffle in the pub.
2. Andrew Symonds
In the second semifinal of the CB series in 2007-08, a streaker rushed onto the field and ran towards Andrew Symonds. Symonds who is well built gave a shoulder and knocked down the streaker before the security official grabbed the man.

Indian batsman Virat Kohli was tested by the crowd. The Australian crowd is well known for its booing and they were getting under the skin of young Virat Kohli, who wears his heart on his sleeve. Kohli lost his cool and showed the middle finger to the fans.
