Ashes Cricket has always been a massive cricketing affair. The players of Australia and England will give their best on the field to lift the trophy at any cost. They undergo intense training and will do everything that they are capable of in order to deliver the best for their country. Certainly, all those efforts seal the heart of the fans. Meanwhile, one of those fans, who is 12-year old did extra-hard work to get a seat in the spectators’ stand.

According to cricket.com.au, Max Waight, a 12-year-old from the south coast of Victoria in Australia, took out his neighbours’ garbage on the weekends for four years for a paltry sum of $1 per household — all so that he could watch the Ashes live in the UK.

The kid had seen Australia lift the World Cup in 2015 on their home soil and it was then that he wanted to travel to the UK to watch his favourite team take on England in the high-voltage series. But travelling to England was not that simple. His father, Damien, promised him that if he could raise AUD 1500, he would end up taking Max to the UK.

It is an amazing experience:

Max wrote a letter to all his neighbours in his Point Lonsdale street on the south coast of Victoria offering his waste management services. He had 10 customers in no time. Well, it certainly pushed the kid to start his walk to the target.

“When I said it, I had to follow through,” Damien Waight told cricket.com.au. “If he saved up the money I wasn’t going to let him down.  It’s an amazing experience, we’ve got our whole family and another close family that we’re friends with. We’re just making memories.”

Max revealed his favourite players and he was given a special gesture by the Australian team. He witnessed players from close quarters and also had a healthy chat with Justin Langer, Steve Waugh and with a few other players.

“I sat next to Steve Waugh, Justin Langer and Nathan Lyon,” Max said. Justin Langer showed me the plan book which was amazing to see all his notes and talking to Steve Waugh was amazing too.” “Steve Smith and Pat Cummins are my favourites,” Max said. “I got to talk to them about how they prepare and play the game. It was very enjoyable.”

His journey was made special by the cricketers, as they have given him a Jersey with all their autographs on it. All in all, it is really sweet from Max, who reached his goal.
