Vikram Rathour and Lalchand Rajput, top two contenders for the batting job post, appeared for the interview in person. As per multiple reports, Rathour is the front runner to replace Sanjay Bangar as the batting coach of the Indian cricket team.
Rajput had recently appeared for the head coach post as well but unsurprisingly, Ravi Shastri got his contract extended for another two years.

Apart from the duo, Pravin Amre was another strong contender who appeared for the interview. Rated as one of the best coaches in the cricketing circle, Amre is presently associated with Delhi Capitals. Amol Mazumdar, Sitanshu Kotak, who recently coached India A, Hrishikesh Kanitkar were other three candidates who appeared for the batting coach job.
The report in Sportstar also adds that Venkatesh Prasad, Paras Mhambrey, Subroto Banerjee and Amit Bhandari came to BCCI’s office for the interview. All the four former India pacers have applied for the bowling coach job.
It is unlikely that Bharat Arun will be replaced as team India’s bowling coach due to the rise of Indian pacers since he has taken over the charge.
Since the Indian team is playing West Indies A in a practice match, the members of India’s coaching staff could not be interviewed. They will be giving their presentations tomorrow.

Jonty Rhodes, who has thrown his hat for the fielding coach job, will also be interviewed tomorrow. He has a strong chance to replace R Sridhar from the position but since Ravi Shastri recently backed R Sridhar, Rhodes could miss out on the position at least for next two years.

The lengthy process will end on Thursday. The board will be naming all the coaches on the same day. In all likeliness, the majority of members of the support staff will keep their positions.
Sanjay Bangar, for not being able to find a suitable number four batsman for World Cup 2019, could be replaced by some other coach.
