3. Varun Chakravarthy:
Varun, who was picked up for INR 8.40 crore at the auction in December last year will certainly be out of the team for IPL 2020. It is always on the cards, as the release of him will give a massive amount added to the pouch of Kings XI Punjab during the IPL 2020 Auction.
Chakravarthy made his IPL debut against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) but unfortunately, it was the only game he played for the franchise. The youngster suffered an injury eventually to be ruled out from the remainder of the tournament. The franchise might buy him again but surely not for the same price.
2. Andrew Tye:
Who would have expected that Andrew Tye would fall from the top of his game to such a low level within the span of 365 days? He was the Orange Cap winner in the IPL 2018 and this season only managed 3 wickets in 6 matches. He was woefully out of form and gave runs at 10.59 runs per over.
Given that KXIP rarely retains underperforming players, Tye may find himself in IPL 2020 auction list. The fast bowler will go back to the auction pool in order to start his IPL career fresh.
1. David Miller:
One of those few cricketers, who played for only one franchise since making his IPL debut. Punjab has shown immense trust in the South Africa batsman to make things fall in place. The stylish southpaw had one or a couple of good seasons for the team while in the remaining editions, he hardly performed. Even in 2019, he wasn’t up to the mark.
In 2019, David Miller scored only 213 runs in 10 games, and never batted with the aggression that he used to play with in the past. In must-win situations, he failed to explode.
