The Indian Premier League (IPL) is none less than a festival of cricket in India. Each year, fans await with the same enthusiasm for the cash-rich league to spread its magic for almost 2 months of time.

1. Sachin and Virat’s Maiden IPL Hundred

Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian cricket team, is included in the list of world’s best players these days. Apart from this, he has the ability to break the record of 100 centuries of master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar himself acknowledged this saying Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli can break his 100-century records.

There are a lot of coincidences between Tendulkar and Kohli. Both players scored their 58th international century against the same rival team. Apart from all this, there is a big coincidence associated with IPL.

In IPL 2016, Kohli against the Gujarat Lions and in 2011 Sachin against the Kochi Tuskers, scored the first century of their IPL career. Both reached their century on the last ball of their innings and were not out.

Both players were captaining their respective teams and started the innings. Unfortunately, both of them faced defeat.

2. RCB Scored The Highest In 2013 And The Lowest In 2017

Royal Challengers Bangalore is a team full of star players but they have not been able to register a title win so far. However, this franchise has surprised everyone with its performance many times. RCB is the franchise that has registered the highest team total and lowest team total as well.

In 2013, while playing against Pune Warriors, Virat Sena scored 263 runs. This is the highest team-score ever in the history of the competition. In this match, opener Chris Gayle played an unbeaten stormy innings of 175 runs.

Now it is a big coincidence that the date on which the team registered the highest score in 2013 to create history, On the same day after four years, they registered the lowest-ever team score in IPL’s history as they were bundled out for 49 runs at the Eden Gardens.

3. David Warner Is Lucky For Mumbai Indians

IPL’s most successful franchise, the Mumbai Indians has a lot of quality players in their squad which includes world-class batsmen and bowlers. This is the reason Mumbai is considered to be a possible title challenger every year.

If you take a look at Mumbai Indians winning the IPL title and David Warner’s performance, then you’ll notice that Mumbai Indians have won the trophy in all those years when David Warner has held the orange cap in 2015, 2017, and 2019.

4. IPL’s Most Bizarre Coincidence

The coincidence we are going to tell you now in the list of IPL coincidences is quite different. On Sunday 22 April, Sunrisers Hyderabad hosted Chennai Super Kings whereas Rajasthan Royals hosted Mumbai Indians. Chennai won the game by a narrow margin of 4 runs and middle-order explosive batsman Ambati Rayudu was adjudged Man of the Match for 79 runs off 37 balls.

Later in the second match played in the evening, Rajasthan beat Mumbai by 3 wickets, and Rohit Sharma was run out for a duck on his first ball. After this on 13 May, on Sunday, in the same season, Chennai hosted Hyderabad in Pune and Mumbai welcomed the Royals at Wankhede.

CSK won the match by 8 wickets, as Ambati Rayudu scored his first IPL century to win the Man of the Match award. A few hours later, like their previous encounter – Rajasthan defeated Mumbai and the Mumbai captain was dismissed for the Golden Duck.

5. Umesh Yadav’s Similar Bowling Figures

The 2018 season of IPL was memorable for Royal Challengers Bangalore fast bowler Umesh Yadav. He took a total of 20 wickets in that season with an economy of 7.86. Even though RCB once again made it to the bottom of the table, Umesh shook the opposition openers in power-play overs with speed, swing and impeccable accuracy.

Umesh won two Man of the Match awards in that season against Kings XI Punjab. There are coincidental figures in both his bowling efforts against Punjab. 4-0-23-3 in both games! Umesh took three wickets for 23 runs, exactly the same on both occasions.
