England leg-spinner Adil Rashid completed his Hajj earlier this month and is now completely focused on success in his fourth T20 World Cup appearance. However, there is one more possibility at hand and that is his Test comeback with the England team coming under new management and leadership group.

Rob Key took over as the managing director of the team, Brendon McCullum took over from Chris Silverwood as head coach and Ben Stokes became the new Test captain after Joe Root stepped down after the West Indies tour debacle.

Recently, Rashid missed the entire home series against India as he had requested and got permission from the ECB and Yorkshire CCC to fulfill one of the five pillars of Islam during a busy summer of cricket. He also missed out on playing in the T20 Blast as well.

It’s Not Quite Easy For Me To Say Yes And No, But Not Thinking Of It: Adil Rashid On Test Comeback

Meanwhile, the question regarding his Test comeback popped up as England prepares for their historic tour of Pakistan, which they will visit for the first time since 2005. Rashid’s skills on the dust bowl wickets in Pakistan will come in handy.

But Rashid was decidedly cool on the likelihood of him returning to the five-day game with little or no first-class experience since the wear and tear on his shoulder became a chronic issue. Some pressure has also been put on with Moeen Ali saying that he is ready to come out of Test retirement to play for England on their tour of Pakistan under new leadership.

“A lot has got to happen for me to play Test cricket. In terms of form, how someone feels, injuries, how the body feels, the mindset. It’s not quite easy for me to say yes and no, but at the moment I’m not thinking about that. (Jack) Leachy’s doing a great job, and there are spinners coming through, they deserve it,” Rashid told Mirror.co.uk.

Rashid will be seen in action when England takes on South Africa in the 3-T20I match series from July 27 onwards.
