Former Indian opening batsman Aakash Chopra has been impressed with T Natarajan, who has emerged a daunting prospect in India’s bowling unit. Aakash Chopra feels that in an absolute run-fest at the Sydney during the second T20 international, T Natarajan was the only bowler who won the hearts. The men in blue aced the chase of 195 with two balls and four wickets to spare to secure the three-match T20I series.

While Hardik Pandya stole the show with his stellar power-hitting in the slog overs, the win might not have been possible without T Natarajan’s miserly spell of bowling. The left-arm seamer was not only economical but was also amongst the wickets that kept Australia to an achievable. He had figures of 4-0-20-2, claiming the scalps of D’arcy Short and Moises Henriques – both of who threatened to take the hosts to a total of above 200.

It was T Natarajan’s only second T20 international and third match for India after making his debut in the third ODI in Canberra. In the first T20 international at Manuka Oval, the 29-year old completed a remarkable debut by having bowling figures of 4-0-30-3 as the tourists defended a modest total of 161 after Ravindra Jadeja’s exploits got them there.

Aakash Chopra declared that T Natarajan was the only bowler who won the hearts and being quite inexperienced at the international level, it meant a lot. Having bowled in one over each in four spells, not only he remained economical but also picked wickets. Aakash added that people would remember the left-arm seamer’s spell for a long time in a match where the bowlers went for plenty of runs and emerged as the biggest positive.

“T Natarajan was the only bowler who won hearts. It was just his second T20I match and third overall international encounter and how well he bowled. He was given one over each in four spells, he took wickets and was economical as well. The bowlers got hit so much that we will remember Natarajan’s spell for a long time. He was looking different from all the other bowlers. He is the biggest positive from this match,” Aakash told in his Youtube channel.
