Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has raised concerns after the growing instances of fans breaching security in stadiums to meet their favorite stars during the match. Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra admitted that it is a massive cause of concern for the players after referring to the two separate instances in the recent Test series between India and Windies. The fans had managed to break security to meet skipper Virat Kohli to click selfies.

During the first Test of the India-Windies series, two fans had broken the security. The match was played at the Saurashtra Cricket stadium in Rajkot. They entered the ground to click a selfie with the Indian skipper Virat Kohli on the first day.

There were two such instances in Test series against Windies.

Moreover, again in the second Test at Hyderabad, a fan climbed the barricade and sprinted around 70 meters. He ran towards Kohli before engaging a tight hug and then tried to take a selfie with the skipper.

In addition to that, Police inspector P Venkateswarlu later said a case of trespassing has been slapped against 19-year-old Mohammad Khan, who breached security cordon to rise up near with Kohli.

India won the first match by an innings and 272 runs which was followed by a second win of ten wickets.

Aakash Chopra took to Twitter to share his concern. His post read as, “Lately too many fans have managed to reach the middle of the pitch….genuine concern. Please keep the players safe…. #Kohli #Rohit #MSD”

However, one of the users didn’t agree with Aakash Chopra. He said that the fans only enter in the field to meet their idols and put no harm on them. But Chopra was quick to dismiss it by saying that one doesn’t know what is going inside the mind of others. He replied in the following fashion

“How do you know the motive of the person invading the pitch? Nothing has happened thus far…but what’s the guarantee that nothing will ever happen?”
