India vs West Indies 2018: Case Filed Against Fan Who Tried To Take Selfie With Virat Kohli

The desperation to get a selfie with India skipper Virat Kohli has landed a fan in trouble. A case has been filed against the man for allegedly breaching security cordon at the Uppal Stadium during the second Test against West Indies.

Not bothering about the consequences, an overenthusiastic fan breached security at the stadium to take a selfie with Virat Kohli. The man identified as 19-year-old Mohammad Khan also tried to plant a kiss on the Indian captain’s cheek. However, before he could succeed, he was stopped midway through his attempt.

The India cricket star was fielding at mid-wicket in the opening session of the first day when the fan ran onto the field and embraced the Indian star. The security officials soon ran onto the field and took Khan off the crowd as the crowd roared and clapped. Kohli was visibly upset with the turn of events. The umpires soon called for drinks as Kohli and his teammates tried to focus on the game again.

And the fan has now landed in hot waters for his conduct. As per reports, he is slapped with a case of trespassing for his actions.

This is the second time in two back-to-back games that a fan breached the security for a selfie with Kohli. In the first Test at Rajkot, not one but two fans had jumped over the boundary hoarding to catch a glimpse of their beloved star.

Coming to the game, West Indies ended the day on 295 for 7.

For the third innings in a row, India had West Indies on the mat. The visitors kept on losing wickets at regular intervals right from the start and were five down for just 113. At that stage, they were looking primed to be bowled out for another subpar total. However, Roston Chase led a spirited fightback, scoring an unbeaten 98 to help West Indies finish the day on a respectable 295 f0r 7. He received good support from Shane Dowrich and skipper Jason Holder who scored a fifty.

The Virat Kohli-led side is leading the series 1-0.

An avid cricket lover, I just love this game more than anything. Writing about cricket keeps me closer to the game.
