The ever frenetic world of Pakistan cricket has been marred with constant chaos for a long time now and it reached its zenith when former captain Misbah Ul Haq was handed the post of both Head Coach and chief selector of the national side last September.

Pakistan had endured a forgettable 2019 World Cup campaign after which sweeping changes were made to their set-up. While Head Coach Mickey Arthur was relieved from his duties, Inzamam Ul Haq too resigned from his chairman of selectors post. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) then proceeded to shock everyone by giving the dual roles to Misbah Ul Haq followed by the additional charge of being the batting coach.

Since then, former Pakistani cricketers and pundits have often targeted Misbah and the Pakistan Cricket Board for giving sole authority to a guy who does not possess any prior experience in coaching.

Joining the bandwagon is the former swashbuckling opener Aamer Sohail, who recently took a dig at Misbah when he said that the PCB has offered him so many roles that the only thing left is to refer him for the Prime Minister’s post.

Sohail reckoned that while Misbah was a good player, he has no experience of handling such a high profile job and burdening him with so many responsibilities is a ‘gross injustice’ to him.

“The PCB has handed so many roles to head coach-cum-chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq except referring his name as next Prime Minister. No doubt Misbah was a good cricketer, but he has no experience of such high-profile jobs, and giving him so many roles is injustice with him,” Aamer Sohail, former Pakistan captain told a YouTube channel.
