Australian limited-overs specialist Aaron Finch has set his horizon on the Baggy Green. He has excelled in the One-day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals respectively in the national fold.

“I’ve made quite a few fifties over the last couple of years, and sixties and seventies but not really gone on to get the big match-winning hundred,” Finch was quoted as saying by Cricket Australia.

Moreover, Australian selectors are happy the way batsman has been performing in the other formats.

“Me being an attacking player, it doesn’t change a helluva lot (from one format to the next),” Finch added.

Following the spectacular role in the white-ball cricket, Finch has set the primary goal to don whites.

“My number one ambition is to play Test cricket,” Finch conceded.

The Victorian might be seen as the top-notch player for the limited-overs fold. However, Finch is enough confident to live his dream.

On the other side, there are many players around to break into the Test fold. Moreover, Finch is further aware of the strong competition.

“It’s still a long way off, there’s a lot of good players in front of me at the moment. But I can just keep trying to put some scores on the board and see how we go from there,” Finch stated.

The 31-year-old right-handed batsman Finch further conceded he has expressed a desire to play the red-ball cricket long-back in the top-flight cricket.

“I need to keep making more hundreds. So hopefully this week in Perth was a bit of a turning point,” Finch asserted.

After making a debut in 2017 in the First-class leg Finch went on to play 72 matches in which he scored 4,232 runs at an average of 37.45. He played 51 fixtures for Victoria.

With Victoria placed at the second place on Sheffield Shield 2017-18 points table, Finch has stepped to the gas.

“Having represented Australia around 120, 130 times in the other two formats it would be nice to contribute to that in the Tests,” Finch concluded.

So far, Finch featured in 88 ODIs in which he scored 3,200 runs at an average of 38.55. He struck 10 tons and 18 fifties.
