AB de Villiers Excited to Make a Return to the Game

Former South African talisman batsman AB de Villiers is excited to return back to the game. AB de Villiers had surprisingly called it quits in May when he claimed he was tired to keep going in the International format. Thus, AB de Villiers will return to action for the first time after taking retirement from the topmost level. The right-hander will play in the Mzansi Super League.

AB de Villiers believes the forthcoming league will be huge for the South African cricket. The former South African skipper is going to be a marquee player in the Twenty20 league. AB hasn’t played cricket for a while, therefore, he is looking forward to getting back to action.

AB will once again produce magic with his willow.

“I am extremely excited. In fact, I haven’t played cricket for a while, but I am getting back into the swing of things. I have had these kinds of breaks before and it is always a challenge to get fit and hit balls again. Hence, I am really looking forward to that, and what will be a really good challenge in the Mzansi Super League,” Sport24 quoted De Villiers, as saying.

The former talisman batsman believes the upcoming tournament will play a big role in the development of South African cricket.

“It is a huge step in the right direction for Cricket South Africa, and South African cricket,” he said. “As a unit, we’ll be looking to not just pull this tournament off, but make it a great spectacle for fans around the world to enjoy,” he added.

AB de Villiers was one of the best batsmen in the world. de Villiers was able to revolutionize the way game was played. The right-hander was audacious in his batting approach and always liked to hit the ground running.

In fact, there were reports that AB de Villiers might contemplate making a comeback from retirement. However, AB went on to decline the rumors.
