The 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) came to a closure as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lifted their third IPL title by defeating the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the final of the tournament. It was a great knock from Shane Watson in the decider of the tournament which helped Chennai to script a great comeback.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad also played a terrific brand of cricket all through the tournament. They were the first team in the tournament to qualify for the playoffs.

Riding on a sensational bowling performance by the group of bowlers, Hyderabad ended up winning nine of their first 11 games to become the table-toppers in the league stage.

The batting department was led by Shikhar Dhawan and skipper Kane Williamsn. Both looked in tremendous touch at the top of the order for the majority of the tournament.

Dhawan was at his imperious best and ended up scoring 497 runs in 16 matches at an average of 38.23. The southpaw smashed four half-centuries in the process and maintained a healthy strike rate of 136.91.

Following Hyderabad’s loss to Chennai in the grand finale of the tournament, Dhawan was utterly disappointed but congratulated the team on a brilliant campaign. They looked one of the most organised sides.

However there performance got down a bit towards the latter part of the tournament and one can understand the fact that it is a long competition and these sort of things are bound to happen.

Dhawan answered several questions during his recent interview with Cricbuzz. The southpaw was asked questions related to different aspects and he answered gleefully.

When asked about his favourite cricketer, Shikhar Dhawan revealed that he is none other than Mr 360 AB de Villiers.

“AB de Villiers. He’s a great batsman and more than that he’s a gem of a person too. A great leader. I have learnt a lot of things by just watching him. I’m happy that I played against him,” Dhawan told Cricbuzz.
