AB de Villiers Slammed by Fans For Using Tricolour to Promote Wine Brand

Former South African ace cricketer, AB de Villiers has received a backlash from his fans after using Indian flag for promoting a wine product recently.

Meanwhile, de Villiers surprised everyone bidding adieu to cricket earlier this year. His announcement shocked the die fans across the world as nobody saw it coming.

An acclaimed cricketer all over the world, de Villiers received appreciation for the illustrious career at the highest level for close to 15 years.

Despite announcing his retirement from the international arena, de Villiers will continue to play domestic cricket. He has already decided that he will play for his domestic team Titans and also guide the youngsters from time-to-time.

Moreover, he will also feature in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for a few more years.

However, his actions have now come under scanner for using an Indian flag while promoting a wine brand which has been launched in India.

Recently, he promoted the Infinity wines brand which is now also available in India. He posted an update about the same on his official Instagram handle. But what irked the fans was the use of the tri-colour

The 34-year-old de Villiers has an immense fan-following in India and expectedly they weren’t pleased with him. They lashed out at the former cricketer for disrespecting the Indian flag.

While few termed him as the role model of the young generation by saying he shouldn’t ‘spoil his image’ while promoting wine brands, some thrashed him saying that they didn’t expect this from him.
