Abu Dhabi T10 Keen To Rope In Yuvraj Singh, Ambati Rayudu And Irfan Pathan

Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh signed for Toronto Nationals in the Global T20 Canada which has opened the gates for Indian cricketers plying their trade in overseas T20 leagues. Seeing an opportunity, he UAE-government backed Abu Dhabi T10 League is keen to rope in a few Indian cricketers to grab the Indian market. The organisers are eyeing to sign veteran cricketers like Yuvraj, Ambati Rayudu, and Irfan Pathan for the third edition starting from November 15.

Yuvraj to play in Abu Dhabi T10 league
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) doesn’t allow his players to play in foreign leagues. Recently, Yuvraj Singh seeked a NOC to play in the Global T20 Canda after announcing his retirement in June. Punjab-born cricketer Manpreet Gony also followed his footsteps which has opened the doors for other franchise owners to approach veteran Indian cricketers.

The chairman and founder of the T10 league, Shaji Ul Mulk said that they are in contact with Yuvraj Singh and his former teammates, reported The National. He said that there are expectations from Yuvraj they are trying to bridge it; however, he is optimistic about the developments.
“We are very optimistic, and I think it is more about a number than willingness,” Ul Mulk told the UAE-based daily. “Yuvraj has a certain expectation, and we can only afford so much, let us put it that way. We are trying to bridge that gap, but the intention is very clear: he definitely wants to play. The same goes for other players who are retiring. There is an ongoing conversations, so we are pretty optimistic,” he added.
England skipper Eoin Morgan, Lasith Malinga, Shane Watson, and Andre Russell are also considering to join the third edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 League. The tournament will shift their base from Sharjah to Abu Dhabi starting from November 15. Indian players, such as Zaheer Khan, RP Singh, and Pravin Tambe played in the 2018 T10 League.
