Actor Nagma Finally Opens Up on Her Rumoured Relationship with Sourav Ganguly

There is no denying the fact that the film industry and the cricketing fraternity have always gone hand in hand.

The pairing between the two has always been a tradition. Both actors and the cricketers garner a massive response from their fans and hold a prominent celebrity status in the country.

Currently, the Bolly-Cricket pair which is taking the world by storm is none other than the newlywed, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. They were quite open about their relationship even before they tied the knot in December last year.

However, there are a few relationships from the past which remain under covers. Among them, one such association was between former Indian skipper, Sourav Ganguly and South Indian actress, Nagma.

She is a trendy name from the South Indian film industry. Nagma was in a relationship with Ganguly in the early 2000’s.

Ganguly was the skipper of the national team back then. He had recently been handed over the captaincy after the match-fixing scandal that had wrecked the whole cricketing fraternity.

Dada, as he is often known, was at the peak of his prowess and led the national team in his aggressive style. The actress never confirmed back then about their relation. However, she finally opened up on their rumoured affair.

Nagma gives her say on the entire episode

During an interview, she indirectly indicated of having a relation with Ganguly.

“Whatever one says, nobody has denied anything. As long as there is no denial of each other’s existence in each other’s life, any person can say anything they want.”

Nagma stated it wasn’t an easy decision to part ways. However, given the broader perspective, they had to split ways and concentrate on their respective careers.

“There was a career at stake, besides other things, so one had to part. One had to weigh a lot of things, rather than be on an ego trip and insist on being together. A smaller interest had to be sacrificed for bigger interests… When a game is being played, people should understand it is a sport. It’s very weird that people started getting carried away,” Nagma added.

During the interview, she further added they didn’t end the relationship on a bitter note. Instead, they still have mutual respect for each other.
