There is absolutely no denying that MS Dhoni and Adam Gilchrist set the benchmark for wicketkeeping in international cricket. The legendary cricketers are two of the most decorated wicketkeeper-batsmen in the history of the game.

Both MS Dhoni and Adam Gilchrist have redefined the role of wicketkeeper-batsmen in the game. Not very long ago, the role of wicketkeepers in cricket was to be good behind the stumps and a handy batsmen. However, the likes of Gilchrist and Dhoni redefined the roles with their stunning work with both gloves as well as bat.

While Gilchrist inflicted 905 dismissals as a wicket-keeper in his international career, Dhoni has 829 dismissals to his name and holds the third spot in the list of most dismissals as a wicket-keeper in international cricket. Former South Africa keeper Mark Boucher tops the list with a staggering 998 dismissals as a wicket-keeper. Both Gilchrist and Dhoni have also scored more than 15,000 runs in international cricket.

“MS Dhoni or Adam Gilchrist – A better cricketer?” Sarfaraz was asked a live interview on CricTracker.

In reply, he said: “MS Dhoni.”

Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Ahmed has been named in Pakistan’s 29-man squad for the Test and T20I series in England in August-September. He has not played for Pakistan since being removed as captain after his team suffered a 3-0 loss at home in a T20I series against Pakistan.

Sarfaraz Ahmed missed the tour of Australia as well as the home series against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. He will be looking to hit the ground running in England if he gets the chance in the playing eleven.
