Australia’s leg-spinner Adam Zampa still doesn’t feel very comfortable whatsoever at the international stage even after having plenty of experience. Zampa will feature in Australia’s team for ICC T20 World Cup that will take place later this year in Australia.

Having played his first ICC Men’s T20 World Cup as a 23-year-old in 2016, Zampa will return to the event like an experienced campaigner. Australia have not won the tournament until now and will be chasing their maiden title this year at their home.

Still Not Comfortable With Professional Cricket Even After A Vast Experience: Adam Zampa

Despite the years of experience under his belt now, Zampa admits to still not feeling comfortable at the international level. But he doesn’t think it’s a bad thing, as it keeps him on his toes.

“Even now I don’t feel comfortable, which is probably a good thing to be honest,” Zampa said.

“I haven’t been comfortable since I’ve been playing professional cricket, so hope it’s a good thing that keeps me driven, and as I said earlier, I hope for constant improvement. As I get older, get more experience, train harder and think about the game a bit different …”

“I was just excited to be there [in 2016] and it was disappointing to lose,” Zampa said after Australia’s 2-1 series win in the T20Is against South Africa.

“I just look back and think, ‘wow, I’ve played a World Cup’, but I think it’s a little bit different now. I’ve got the drive to win games for Australia. I think I can help that, rather than thinking I’m just happy to be there.”

Zampa has had a fair share of experience in international cricket. He has clinched more than 100 wickets across formats and will be one of the key members of the Australian squad that will step up on the field, to win its maiden ICC T20 World Cup trophy.
