England all-rounder Moeen Ali feels that Adil Rashid and Alex Hales committing solely to white-ball cricket will ultimately prove beneficial for England.

Both Rashid and Hales play a pivotal role in England’s limited-overs side.

All-rounder Rashid will play for Yorkshire during the 2018 season, while Hales has signed a new two-year deal with Nottinghamshire. Further, both of them has struggled to establish themselves in Test cricket.

Meanwhile, England will start their five-match ODI series against New Zealand on Sunday.

It will benefit England:

Ali feels specialists will be good for England cricket. He further added that more players would follow this path in future.

It will be great for England long-term,” Moeen said to Test Match Special. “We’re going to have real specialists and it’s something a lot of players will probably do further down the line,” he added.

The 30-year-old Rashid has played 59 one-day and 28 T20 internationals for England. His last appearance in the longest format of the games was way back in 2016 against India.

Hales, on the other hand, represented England in 58 ODIs and 52 T20Is and won the last of his 11 Test caps against Pakistan in August 2016.

It’s something they feel they probably need to do to play round the world and in all the tournaments as much as they can,” Moeen Added.

Further, he saw a change in fortune with the change in format. Moeen contributed significantly during England’s 4-1 win over Australia in the ODI series. He was rested from the recently concluded T20 tri-series involving Australia and New Zealand.
