Team India has had decided to call wrist-spinners in the form of Yuzvendra Chahal and Shival Kaushik to tackle Afghanistan’s mystery spinners ahead of the One-off Test match starting from June 14 in Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan will play their debut Test since earning the Test status last year in June.

Interestingly, visitors side included five spinners in their squad to exploit the turning tracks in India.

The Afghans have a good idea of Indian pitches as they have been practicing here in India. Spin will be their primary weapon against a star-studded batting line with Rashid Khan leading the pack.

The 19-year old leg-spin sensation Rashid has been in excellent form in the recent past.

While Rashid has been on fire, Afghanistan’s offspinners – Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Mohammad Nabi – who played in the IPL too, also delivered the punch in the recently-held series against Bangladesh.

Along with these, they have also named Zahir Khan and left-arm spinner Hamza Hotak, who incidentally emerged as the leading wicket-taker in the recently concluded first-class competition.

India, on the other hand, will look to have a solid preparation ahead of the England tour. However, they will miss their regular skipper Virat Kohli due to a neck injury. Further, they have started their camp in for the impending Test.

India calls Chahal and Kaushik:

In a bid to tackle Rashid, who has been in tremendous form, the team management went further a step ahead and eventually decided to call Chahal and Kaushik, to bowl at Indian batsmen.

Chahal and Kaushik have been doing well in the recent past and it is likely that they will help India prepare better.

While Chahal has been a regular feature in the limited-overs side, Kaushik is yet to make a big leap. Kaushik grabbed eyeballs with his unique action which makes it difficult for the batsmen to pick him.

India also has Kuldeep Yadav in the squad, who has done a bulk of the job in the recent past.

Ajinkya Rahane-led side’s batting line-up will be keen to dominate that of the debutants. They have the likes of Murali Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Rahane himself in the side.

Though India have an upper hand, it will be an exciting clash for the viewers to witness in Bengaluru.
