Afghanistan Players To Miss The Playoffs Of The Caribbean Premier League

Afghanistan cricketers are set to miss the final week of the Caribbean Premier League [CPL] in order to participate in their domestic T20 tournament- Shpageeza Cricket League.

The Shpageeza Cricket League is set to take place between September 06-16 while the final of the CPL is scheduled to take place on September 10.

“We have sent an email to Cricket West Indies. We will have players from CPL on September 5,” Nazeem Jaar, Abdulrahimzai, acting Chief Operating Officer of AC was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.

“They are aware about that. They are just waiting for the flight details so they will prepare for the players to fly out,” he added.

While Mohammad Nabi will captain Mis-e-Ainak Knights in the Shpageeza League, the likes Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Naveen Ul Haq, and Rashid Khan will represent Kabul Eagles and Band-e-Amir Dragons.

The 11-day T20 tournament will consist of 19 matches including four playoffs. All the 19 games will be played at the Kabul International Stadium.
