The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) have announced their first ever T20International bilateral series against Bangladesh in June.

Meanwhile, India will host the three-match series before Afghanistan historic Test series against India. Dehradun will host all the three fixtures, scheduled for 3, 5 and 7 of June.

Afghanistan have been in good form off late qualifying the ICC Cricket World Cup next year in England. Moreover, they defeated Windies in the final to win ICC World Cup Qualifier.

With Afghan cricketers finding their feet in international circuit, they will certainly like to continue this form.

ACB delighted to host Bangladesh

ACB chairman Atif Mashal expressed his delight to host Bangladesh in the T20I series. He also added the fans have enjoyed both the teams playing against each other and this is one more opportunity for them.

ACB is delighted to host Bangladesh for the T20I series in Dehradun in early June which will be a good opportunity for both sides to play competitive cricket. Similarly, cricket fans have also previously enjoyed games between the two sides and this will be yet another opportunity for them to witness their sides play against each other,” Mashal said to ICC.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) also vouched that it will be competitive series with quality players in both the teams.

However, BCB CEO, Nizam Uddin Chowdhury added Bangladesh is confident and looking forward to it.

This promises to be a very competitive series,” Chowdhury said. “Afghanistan have some fine players for this format and they will have the advantage of familiarity with the conditions in Dehradun. However, the Bangladesh team is a confident and experienced unit and we are really looking forward to the matches,” he added.

Previously, both the teams met only once before with Bangladesh winning by nine wickets at the 2014 ICC World Twenty20.
