Former Pakistan allrounder Abdul Razzaq raised a number of eyebrows with his recent comment for India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah. While Bumrah is widely regarded as the best bowler in the world across formats, Razzaq took a shot at him by calling him a ‘baby bowler’. Razzaq was comparing Bumrah to yesteryear bowlers like Wasim Akram, Glenn McGrath, and Shoaib Akhtar.

The ex-cricketer said that that Bumrah was a baby bowler in front of him and he could have easily dominated him. He said Bumrah would have been under pressure while facing him.

“I have played against great bowlers like Glenn McGrath and Wasim Akram, so Bumrah is a baby bowler in front of me and I could have easily dominated and attacked him,”said Razzaq in an interview to Cricket Pakistan.

“After having faced world-class bowlers in my time, I would have had no problem against a bowler like Bumrah. The pressure would have been on him,” Razzaq further added.

Abdul Razzaq at it again:

Well, Abdul Razzaq has come up with yet another distasteful comment on another Indian player with current captain Virat Kohli being the target this time around. Razzaq said that while Kohli is a consistent batsman, he cannot be put in the same category as Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. He backed his claim by saying that there is a dearth of world-class players in modern-day cricket and there is no strength in depth for teams across the world.

“If you speak to players from 1992 to 2007, they will tell you what cricket was,” Razzaq said. “There were world class players at that time. Now there are no longer world class players. There is no depth in bowling, batting or fielding. It is all basic now.”

“If Virat Kohli scores, he scores. Yeah, he is a good player for them and is performing consistently, but you cannot place him in the same category as Sachin Tendulkar. He belongs to a different category,” he added.

Talking about Kohli, he is widely regarded as the best batsman in the world right now. At just 31, he has already hit a staggering 43 tons in ODIs and need seven more to go past Tendulkar’s tally of 49 ODI tons. In Tests, Kohli has hit 27 centuries. The India skipper is also the best ranked ODI and Test batsman in the world right now.
