In a shameful turn of events, few users have abused India Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane after the batsman’s poor calling led to Virat Kohli’s run-out on day one of the ongoing first Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval.
India were off to a poor start after Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first. Prithvi Shaw fell to Mitchell Starc for a duck in the very first over. Mayank Agarwal showed fight but could not last long and was castled by a stunning delivery delivery from Pat Cummins.

As usual, Cheteshwar Pujara looked rock solid and played as many as 160 deliveries. The right-handed batsman got the start but failed to convert as he departed for 43 after adding 68 runs with Virat Kohli for the third wicket. Pujara’s dismissal brought Ajinkya Rahane at the crease.
And with the captain and vice-captain in the middle, India were cruising at one stage. It seemed highly likely that the visitors would start the second day with both their star batsmen at the crease until a mix-up brought an end to the partnership. After playing the shot, Ajinkya Rahane first called for a single then sent Kohli back.
The run-out, nonetheless, led to criticism for Ajinkya Rahane as fans slammed him for his poor decision. But some users crossed the fine line between criticism and abuse as they ended up abusing the batting star. The users came up with the choicest of slangs to slam Ajinkya Rahane. They took to Instagram and bombarded Rahane’s comment section with the slangs.
Here are some of the comments from the users:

At the same time, there were some fans who defended Rahane.
