Kartik Tyagi had captured the imagination of the cricketing folklore courtesy of his exploits in the ICC U-19 World Cup earlier this year and fans were really looking forward to seeing the youngster bowl against the best in the world in the cash-rich Indian Premier League.

And, Kartik Tyagi did not fail to impress one and well with not only his skills to bowl at different stages of the game but also his temperament. So much so that former Indian pacer Ajit Agarkar has earmarked the youngster as someone to watch out for in the near future.

“But I think the one guy I quite loved watching in this IPL was Kartik Tyagi for Rajasthan Royals. I think there is something about him for someone who is so young and inexperienced,” Ajit Agarkar said on Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected’

“His attitude was great and it is never easy for a young raw Indian fast bowler to come and have a big IPL but you learn from these experiences,” the 42-year-old said.

Agarkar further hoped that Kartik continues to improve in his skill sets going forward.

The hope is that you get better as you go forward because he seems to have the goods, he seems to have the skillsets to bowl at various stages of a T20 game, which is probably the hardest thing to do,” Agarkar continued.

“Hopefully he keeps getting better. He is someone I will certainly watch out for,” he concluded.

Apart from Kartik Tyagi, Agarkar also heaped high praise on yorker specialist T Natarajan, hailing the youngster for stepping up to the occasion following the injury to Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Agarkar, however, added that the path of young talents like Kartik Tyagi and T Natarajan will be determined by the manner in which they go about their business in not just IPL but also in domestic cricket.

“The cut will depend on how well they go after this and not just in the IPL. But from what I saw, we keep talking about Natarajan’s yorkers. I think for a team that lost its spearhead in Bhuvneshwar Kumar, he sort of stood up really well,” Agarkar said.
