All Of Us Are Coming From The Quarantine Period - Mithali Raj Looking Forward To The Women's T20 Challenge

Mithali Raj, former India captain, is excited for the Women’s T20 Challenge which commences on 4th November in Sharjah. She will be leading the Velocity team.

Mithali talked about the do’s and dont’s ahead of the tournament. Being a senior player, Mithali has advised the youngsters to keep themselves fit as they are coming off a long lockdown and a quarantine period.

Don’t try to push too hard: Mithali Raj

Mithali Raj said that everyone is coming from the quarantine period, so first and foremost, they need to get their basics right. She suggested everyone work on their basics for a couple of days, and they will get into a rhythm by time. The former skipper also told everyone to keep themselves hydrated after every training session. Raj, a veteran of over 200 ODIs, said she feels good to be back and all the girls are excited and really looking forward to the tournament.

In a video posted on the official Twitter handle of IPL, Mithali Raj said, “We are not here to judge anybody, all of us are coming from the quarantine period, just get your basics, for the first two days work on your basics, once the flow comes and then ease into it. Hydrate yourselves well, even if you train for twenty minutes, intensity should be there, don’t try to push too hard.”

“It was a fun session, I was not expecting to time the ball as I did, it feels good to be back, all girls are very excited, everyone is looking in touch, really looking forward to November 4th”, she added.

The Velocity will take on Harmanpreet Kaur’s Supernovas in the tournament opener. All the matches including the final are scheduled to take place in Sharjah.
