Australia’s speedster Pat Cummins is the winner of the Allan Border Medal at 2019 Australian Cricket Awards. Cummins was the pick of the Australian bowlers and did a fine job for the national side. The gun all-rounder Marcus Stoinis is Australia’s men’s One-Day International Player of the Year at the 2019 Australian Cricket Awards. Stoinis was in sublime form in the last one year and has been rewarded for his good show in the 50-overs version. The voting period of Cricket Australia awards was considered between 7 January 2017 – 9 January 2018.
Meanwhile, Australia could only win two matches out of the 13 they played during this time frame. In fact, Stoinis was the only Australian player who went on to play all the 13 matches during this window. Thus, it was not the best of time for the Australia ODI team. Furthermore, the ball-tampering ban on David Warner and Steven Smith added salt to the injury.
Lyon was impressive all over the globe.
