Chennai Super Kings star Ambati Rayudu has credited MS Dhoni for Rohit Sharma’s fine performance as a captain. Rohit Sharma has proved himself as a captain in the Indian Premier League. He is the only captain in the history of the league to have won the title four times.

In fact, those four titles have come in just seven years. Rohit Sharma has been so impressive as captain in IPL that there have been also calls from several quarters to make him India’s limited-overs captain. The Mumbai star has proved himself in international cricket too, having led India to glory in the 2018 Asia Cup and the Nidahas Trophy.

And in a recent interview on Chennai Super Kings’ Instagram handle, Ambati Rayudu said that Rohit Sharma has learnt about captaincy from MS Dhoni. Not only that Ambati Rayudu also backed Rohit Sharma to achieve the success of Dhoni.

“Dhoni has been captain for all of us including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and so what ever Rohit is becoming is because of MS Dhoni. He has learnt a lot from him, there won’t be much difference but I think he is going in the right direction. Long way to go for him and to achieve the success of Dhoni but I am sure he will get there,” Rayudu said.

If not for the pandemic, both Rohit and Dhoni as well as Rayudu would have been playing the IPL. The thirteenth edition of the league was set to start on March 29 with a blockbuster clash between Rohit-led Mumbai Indians and Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings. However, the BCCI has suspended the league indefinitely in the light of the pandemic.
