India’s middle-order batsman Ambati Rayudu is open to batting at different positions for the India National Cricket Team. Rayudu generally bats at number four for the Indian team. However, there have been recent talks of demoting Indian skipper to number four in the forthcoming ICC World Cup 2019.

Subsequently, if that happens, Ambati Rayudu can be required to bat at number three position. India’s head coach Ravi Shastri had recently given a statement in which he said they can bat Virat Kohli at number four in some matches. Consequently, it would be interesting to note India’s batting order in the World Cup.

Rayudu will like to deliver the goods.

Ambati Rayudu has done a good job and he is going to hold the key. Rayudu had scored a fine knock of 91 runs in the fifth ODI against New Zealand when the team had their backs against the wall.

Ambati Rayudu said before the first ODI against Australia, “Your approach has to be different when you are batting at different positions. Fortunately, I have played at different positions all my career. (On the 90 against New Zealand) I didn’t think too much, but during the game, we felt really sad because we lost the match. We needed to prove a point to ourselves that we are good enough.”

Rayudu has scored good knocks for the India National Cricket Team and he was finally able to put paid to India’s number four woes. The right-hander has performed consistently after getting into the team with an impressive show in the IPL 2018. Rayudu will like to keep doing a good job for the Indian side and he will like to grab his chance in the World Cup.

Cricket is my first love. I want to be a wordsmith. I want to weave magic with my words.
