The 19-year-old Aminul Islam, who made his international debut against Zimbabwe on September 18 copped a blow in his hand. He had to undergo a couple of stitches and is now undoubtful for the remaining game of the tri-series including Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, host Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe to progress to the finals of the series. Mahmudullah scored a half-century as they posted 175 runs from their quota of 20 overs. Richmond Mutumbami of Zimbabwe tried hard but the host bowlers delivered goods to secure a 39 runs victory.
Aminul Islam sustained an injury to his left hand while fielding against Zimbabwe and had to get three stitches after the game. Even if the pain got a bit less, it will be risky to play with the injury as it can aggravate the pain. Aminul also sounded doubtful about his participation in the upcoming matches.
“It’s difficult to say. I will have to listen what the team management and physio tell me, but I think my hand is better now,” Aminul said.
Describing the incident, Aminul Islam said that he had got three stitches and blood came out immediately in an attempt to save a ball from Hamilton Masakadza. The 19-year-old said that he is feeling better.
“Masakadza hit a ball straight and I tried to save it, but I couldn’t. It hit my hand. There was not a chance for a return catch, just fielding. I got three stitches. I feel a lot better now, the pain has reduced,” Aminul concluded.
