Anamul Included while Soumya, Taskin Left out of the Bangladesh Squad

Bangladesh Cricket Board announced a 16-member squad for the first two ODIs for the upcoming tri-nation series. The series will include the host Bangladesh along with Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

Bangladesh have made five changes to the ODI squad including the addition of Mustafizur Rehman. Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed and southpaw Soumya Sarkar have been left out of the squad that played against South Africa.

Young fast bowling sensation Mustafizur Rehman was also drafted into the 16-man squad along with Anamul Haque.

Liton Das, who played during Bangladesh’s tour of South Africa was axed from the squad while wicket-keeper Mohammad Mithun has replaced him. Sabbir Rahman was retained despite his recent disciplinary issues. Nasir Hossain was also drafted into the squad.

All-rounder Abul Hossain, who in 2012 against the West Indies became the first cricketer to hit a century from number 10 on debut has made to the squad while all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin has been retained. The other players dropped are Liton Das, Mominul Haque, and Shafiul Islam.

The tri-series kicks off from January 17, with Bangladesh taking on Zimbabwe in the opening game. The three teams will take on each other two times before of the final on January 27. All matches will be held at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.
