Angelo Mathews Demands Fitness Test After Getting Sacked from Captaincy

Former Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews wants selectors to conduct a fitness test. Mathews was snub from the captaincy role. The Sri Lanka selectors have told Angelo Mathews he would not make the cut for the series against England. Therefore, the selectors have raised question marks over his fitness.
Thus, Mathews was shown the exit doors from the captaincy duties. Subsequently, he is asking the selectors to conduct the fitness tests. Therefore, there seems to be some feud going on between Mathews and Sri Lanka selectors.

Surprisingly, the Sri Lankan selectors have passed on their judgement without any fitness test. Meanwhile, Mathews had to pass on the captaincy baton to Dinesh Chandimal after their ignominious exit from the Asia Cup. The Island nation had lost the first match against Bangladesh by 136 runs and the second one against Afghanistan by 91 runs.

Thus, it was a poor display of performance from the Mathews-led side. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka will play five ODI matches against England. Sri Lanka and England will play the first One-Dayer on 10 October.
In fact, this is the second time in the year when Mathews has handed over the captaincy reins.
A Sri Lankan journalist took to his Twitter Account to confirm the news as Sri Lanka sources said.
