Rajasthan Royals’ Jos Buttler is known for giving electrifying starts in the T20 format and he has done in the IPL as well as for England. At the same time, things have not precisely come together for Jos Buttler in this edition of IPL, having dismissed for promising starts without getting many big scores. The trend followed against Delhi Capitals when Anrich Nortje had his number.

Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes, Rajasthan Royals’ new opening pair in as many as seven games, provided a blistering start in pursuit of 162. The third over of the innings was Anrich Nortje’s first of the innings and Buttler greeted him with a six off the first ball. The Englishman went on to play two ramp shots for boundaries off Nortje’s rockets. He had conceded 16 over by the last delivery; however, came back to claim Buttler’s wicket by rearranging his stumps.

Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to bat by bringing in Tushar Deshpande for Harshal Patel. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals named an unchanged side from the one that beat SunRisers Hyderabad by five wickets in Dubai. It was Jofra Archer’s spell of 4-0-19-3 that led the way as the Royals restricted the Capitals to a gettable 162 on a sluggish wicket. The final three overs went only for 18 runs while the last five went for 32 for the loss of three wickets.
