Yet again Mohammed Shahzad shows his clash to hand a comfortable victory for Paktia Panthers over Nangarhar Leopards. It was pretty much a one-sided affair, as Paktia Panthers blazed all their guns against Ben Cutting-led Nangarhar Leopards in the 15th match of APL 2018.
Bowlers put their hands-up for Paktia Panthers:
Initially, it was Nangarhar, who won the toss and asked Paktia to roll their arms. Accepting the challenge, the Paktia bowlers bowled brilliant to restrict the batsmen from finding the boundaries.
Rahman has been brilliant with the new cherry, who often beat the bat in powerplay overs. Sri Lankan pace bowler in T20 games, Isuru Udana also delivered the goods by bagging a couple of wickets in his kitty for just 14 runs.
Coming to the batting section, apart from Rahmat Shah’s 34 in 38 balls, none of the batsmen looked like dealing the Paktia bowler’s class. However, the late blitz by Ben Cutting, in the end, helped them to manage 126 on the board.
Mohammed Shahzad rules the roost:
In reply, Mohammed Shahzad and Ihsanullah started the things in a flashy mode for Panthers. They both went berserk by knocking the boundaries more often than not. Shahzad, in particular, has been dangerous with his stunning strokes.
Though Mujeeb gave the breakthrough by bagging Ihsanullah’s wicket, it wasn’t enough, as Shahzad never looked like giving away his wicket. He remained unbeaten to seal the game in just 13.1 overs with his individual score reading unbeaten 78*.
The Nepal spinner, Sandeep Lamichchane has been the pick of the bowlers for Nangarhar Leopards with two wickets for 23 runs in his four overs.
