The India National Cricket Team has covered almost all their bases before the coveted ICC World Cup 2019. However, there are still some areas on which the Virat Kohli’s men will like to work hard to go all the way in the ODI showpiece. There can be some areas which could be Achilles Heel for the Men in Blue.
Meanwhile, India has ticked the right boxes in the recent past and would like to continue their impetus in the big-ticket tournament. They have played dominant cricket all around the globe and would like to be at the top of their game in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019.
Here are some areas which could be India’s kryptonite in ICC World Cup 2019:
Bleak Middle Order:
India has over-relied on the shoulders of their top order batsmen. Their top three batsmen Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli has done the bulk of the scoring. However, the middle order hasn’t got a lot of chances to test their skills.

Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik must be at the top of their game in the prestigious tournament. Dhoni has returned back to form but there is no doubt that his power hitting capabilities are on the wane. So if a big score is to be chase down, Dhoni could be India’s bane. Thus, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik must make sure that they apply the finishing touches to the innings. Karthik has done well in the recent past and must be backed by the team.
The Third Seamer.
There is no doubt that Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are going to be India’s first choice fast bowlers. Both of them have breathed down the neck of the opposition batsmen while bowling at each end of the innings. Whether it is bowling in the Powerplay overs or bowling in the death, both Bhuvneshwar and Jasprit have not given a sniff to the opposition batters.

However, India has been long searching for their third seamer, who is going to be crucial in the English conditions in ICC World Cup 2019. They have tried the likes of Siddarth Kaul, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, who all have been on the expensive side. Furthermore, the first three names also lack the experience.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami is coming up with answers which India was searching for a long time. He has impressed since he was included in the three-match ODI series against Australia. Shami has bowled with fire and would like to continue the impetus in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019.
Shami was troubled by his fitness and injury concerns in the recent past. Thus, he would like to keep the injury woes at bay. The Bengal fast bowler is going to hold the key for the Indian team and would like to tick the right boxes.
Furthermore, the all-rounder option Hardik Pandya and Kedar Jadhav will need to deliver the goods in the bowling department.
Over-Reliance on Top Three:

Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have scored most of the runs for the Indian team. In fact, India has found itself at sea whenever the top three batsmen have got out early in the innings. Thus, it is crucial for the middle order to fire at full cylinders.
Shikhar Dhawan has an outstanding record while playing in major ICC events. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma has been at his absolute best in the last five years whereas Virat Kohli doesn’t need any introduction.
India will want their middle order to stand tall whenever they face a tricky situation if their top three fails to deliver the goods. Thus, the middle order can be India’s chunk in the armour in the World Cup.
Fielding:

India has got live wires like Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja in their squad. However, the Men in Blue will have to hide fielders like Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Shikhar Dhawan, Yuzvendra Chahal in their squad, who can be India’s weak point. Consequently, these players must pull up their socks in the ICC World Cup 2019 as it is rightly said that Catches wins you matches.
