Australia batter David Warner talked about his battle with Stuart Broad in the ongoing Ashes 2023. He said that although he loves facing the ace pacer but he has troubled him in the last two series and hasn’t missed his mark.

The battle between Stuart Broad and David Waner has been the highlight of the ongoing Ashes 2023. Although it has been pretty one side in favour of the pacer but it creates a different type of aura when these two are up against each other in the red ball.

Stuart Broad has literally owned David Waner in Test cricket and the batter has looked clueless. The English pacer has made him his bunny in the longest format of the game as he has removed him 17 times in his career, most by him to any batter.

David Warner averages below 25 against Stuart Broad and the numbers are even more worse than him as the pacer as he has removed the opening batter 11 times. In the ongoing series, the Southpaw has looked clueless against the moving ball in England and has managed scores of 36, 66, 25, four and one in this series.

David Waner credited Stuart Broad for owning him in the last two series and pointed out that the bowler hasn’t missed his mark and has read his moments well. He added playing against him one should be brave as he has been exceptional against left-handers. Speaking to UK Telegraph’s Vaughany and Tuffers Cricket Club podcast, he said:

“I always love facing, not just Broady, but any fast bowler. Credit to Broady, the last sort of two series I’ve played against him, he’s bowled extremely well. He’s not really missed that mark. He’s probably seen that at Lord’s where I’ve been walking at him, going across, trying to put him off his line and length.

“If you don’t last longer than an over, it’s very hard to do that. You’ve got to be mindful of that. You’ve got to adapt when you’re out there. You’ve got to be brave. In general, these last two years his record against left-handers and top-order batters has been phenomenal and that’s a credit to him and the way he has bowled.”

Ashes 2023: He bowls the ball in a great area all the time – David Warner On Stuart Broad

David Warner further went on to say that Stuart Broad hits the ball in great areas all the time and touted him as the best bowler to the left-handers. He explained:

“You don’t really think about the match-up. You’re just thinking about the ball that’s coming at you, where it’s going to be place and how you’re going to score. He bowls the ball in a great area all the time.

“There’s pros and cons as well in the game where we’ve got two left-handed opening batters. He’s if not the best bowler to left-hand batters in today’s game. He is so good at it.”
