The much-hyped Ashes 2023 is set to commence on 16th June. England skipper Ben Stokes would be eager to prove that their ultra-attacking approach ‘Bazball’ was not a fluke by winning the Ashes. Ben Stokes along with head coach Brendon McCullum will have to bring their ‘A’ game to outclass the Aussies.

Australia haven’t won Ashes in England since 2001 and in the 2019 series, they had retained the urn by 2-2 under the leadership of former skipper Tim Paine.

In a video shared by CSK on their official website, Stokes stated that he is quite confident that Test cricket will always be around despite the changing landscape of cricket. Stokes pointed out that T20 cricket is a livelihood for a lot of the younger generation.

“I think Test Cricket will always be around. There’s a lot of talk around maybe the other formats taking a backseat to T20 format. I don’t see that as a negative and the landscape of the whole game is changing,” said Ben Stokes.

“You would be naive to not so understand and see a new direction where T20 cricket is now more than just an opportunity for people. It’s also a livelihood for people and also the younger generation coming through. Just the whole landscape of cricket has changed in such a quick space of time that who knows where the whole game of cricket is going to be in 2 to 3 years. But I personally think that Test Cricket will be always around,”  he added.
