Former India fast-bowler Ashish Nehra has picked up a bizarre World Cup XI. While most of the players in the team are more or less expected names, it was the name of MS Dhoni in team that is bound to leave many baffled. Ashish Nehra picked David Warner and Rohit Sharma as the openers of his side. India and Australia are out of the World Cup but Rohit and Warner are at the first and second spot respectively on the run-scorers’ list.
Rohit has scored 649 runs with the help of five tons while Warner has scored 648 with the help of three tons. At number three, Ashish Nehra picked up India skipper Virat Kohli. Kohli did not have the best of the tournaments but managed to score 443 runs with five fifties. Speaking to Cricbuzz, Ashish Nehra then picked up Kane Williamson.

The New Zealand skipper has been hailed by many as the most impressive captain of the tournament. However, Ashish Nehra does not look too impressed with Williamson. At number five, the World Cup-winning bowled went for Bangladesh allrounder Shakib Al Hasan who was in a breathtaking form at the World Cup. Shakib scored 606 runs and picked up 11 wickets.

Ashish Nehra then left everyone surprised by not only picking MS Dhoni in his team but also made him the captain of the side. Dhoni has been facing the heat for his batting in the World Cup but Nehra did not pay too much attention to it and picked his former teammate. In Ben Stokes, he picked up another allrounder.

In the bowler department, Ashish Nehra picked three pacers – Jofra Archer, Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell Starc – and one spinner in the form of Yuzvendra Chahal.
