Asia Cup 2018: ACC Announces Schedule for Qualifiers

Tha Asia Cup 2018 fever is set to strike sub-continent to entertain fans. The prestigious tourney is set to kick off in coming September with all the major teams participating in the cricketing carnival.
Meanwhile, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced the schedule for the qualifiers as well. Interestingly, they once again came up with the hectic fixtures as the qualifier round will continue up to nine days with only a couple of rest days.
Winner will join India and Pakistan in Group A:
As many as six teams will participate in the competition. The hosts United Arab Emirates (UAE), Malaysia, Nepal, Oman, Hong Kong, Singapore and will participate across three venues.
It is going to be conducted in a Round-Robin phase. After the completion of the first round, the top two teams will make their way into the finals which will be played on September 6th.
In addition, the winner of the qualifiers’ tourney will join the defending champions India and their arch-rivals, Pakistan. The Group B has already fixed with ex-hosts of the tourney, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka respectively.
As per the reports, the original tourney will be altered. The defending champions, India are not happy with the idea of playing matches on back-to-back days.
