Taking to his twitter handle, Harbhajan wrote,

“Why is he not in the ODI squad for the Asia cup ??? his game is suited more for that format.”

HoweverPant came into bat with India in a precarious situation against England. The visitors had lost five wickets and was staring down the barrel. However, the duo had other plans and changed the complexion of the game with their whirlwind batting display.

The pocket-sized dynamite began with a sensational one-handed six off Moeen Ali. He started smashing the English bowlers all around the park.

An attacking batsman naturally, Pant thrashed the English bowlers all around the Kennington Oval. The spin duo of Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid received special treatment from the 21-year-old.

Rishabh Pant was at his explosive best

Pant became the 4th Indian batsman to bring up his maiden Test century with a six of the bowling of Adil Rashid. He slogged-swept it straight over the mid-wicket fence. It was an exceptional display of batsmanship by Pant and Rahul, as they revived the hopes of India. At one stage, the visitors even harboured hopes of winning the match.

The 204-run partnership came to an end when Adil Rashid bowled a dream delivery and castled the opening batsman. The ball pitched way outside the leg stump and turned sharply to take the off stump.

Soon after Pant also got dismissed after making 114. His innings studded with 15 fours and four sixes.

After the fall of his wicket, it was always going to be a difficult job for India. Eventually, England completed a more or less convincing 118 runs victory in the end.
