Pakistan southpaw opener Imam-ul-Haq has revealed the secret to success against India. The left-hander believes if Pakistan can get rid of Indian openers, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan in the first ten overs, then they would be in the game. In fact, there is no doubt that Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan holds the key to India’s success. Furthermore, both openers have been in good form.

Thus, they have provided a good start to the team which has helped them in achieving success. However, there is no denying the fact that India’s middle order lacks the experience. The middle order hasn’t been in the best of forms and has mostly surrendered when the top three have failed to score runs.

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma have all the experience in the world.

“We have got the momentum on our side after [the win against Afghanistan] and are looking forward to the India game,” Imam-ul-Haq was quoted as saying by The National. “India has a strong batting line-up, but their strength appears to be their openers. If we allow them to settle down at the crease they can go on to make big scores. We need to get them out in the first 10 overs and then we can put some pressure [on] their batting.”

Meanwhile, Imam-ul-Haq had got out while playing a rash shot in the last match against India. However, he scored an invaluable 80 against Afghanistan. The southpaw batsman believes the Men in Green should not only try to take early wickets against India but also should try to jolt the other teams early on in the innings.

“It’s not only against India but we must be able to take wickets against every team to put us in a winning position,” Imam-ul-Haq said. “I think our bowlers bowled well against Afghanistan. They had reduced them to less than three-and-a-half runs per over at one point, but we let them off by dropping a few catches at crucial times of the game.”

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have done a fine job in providing a solid foundation at the top of the order. Therefore, it would be pivotal for Pakistan bowlers to get the better of them.
